The California pastor who found and tweeted about the Bible in Costco that was labeled as fiction isn’t upset about the classification, but plenty of others are.

He was wandering through the aisles of the superstore looking for a gift when the book and its tag caught his eye.

It struck him as interesting, so he snapped a photo, added the text, "Costco has Bibles for sale under the genre of FICTION Hmmmm...", and sent it off.

Some of them found it to be more offensive than noteworthy and made their opinions known.

Word spread and before long social media was ablaze with talk of store boycotts.

Eventually, the pastor found himself being interviewed on a Fox News program.

Costco responded with a statement explaining that the label was an error that occurred before the Bibles got to the store. They said they should have caught it, but didn’t and apologized.

As for the pastor, he said the label caused quite a bit of controversy and discussion, but feels both of those things are positives.

He’s on the fence about it really being a mistake, though.
