Proving that patience is a virtue, Mad Max Fury Road finally gets a release date. It has been 3 years since production began on this movie, and we still have quite a bit of time left to wait, but the fourth installment of the George Miller Mad Max Franchise, called Mad Max: Fury Road finally gets a release date, and will be hitting theaters on May 15, 2015. There were several issues that have kept this movie in production for so long, so pushing the release for another couple of years will give the studio ample time to make the changes they need and to potentially schedule more reshoots. Fury Road will serve as a reboot of the post-apocalyptic world created in Miller's original Mad Max, The Road Warrior and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. George Miller is back to direct the film that essentially started his and Mel Gibson's career back in 1979, and Mel Gibson will be returning as well, except this time he will not be the leading man, Max. Nope, that role will now go to Tom Hardy. And Hardy will also be joined by Charlize Theron and X-Men: First Class' Nicholas Hoult. As it stands right now, Mad Max is opening during one of the few weekends in 2015 that isn't jam packed. However, Disney's The Avengers:Age of Ultron and Tomorrowland will both be opening within two weeks prior to this May 15th release, which may impact their box office potential. So, thoughts on ANOTHER big film moving to 2015? Are you going to be as broke as I am by the time 2016 comes along?
