A teenager in Seminole, Florida is currently recovering from an accidental shooting. The alleged shooter was the 17-year-old boy’s caregiver, who is also a convicted felon.

The victim, Taylor Titus reportedly left his house at about 9 on a recent Sunday night without alerting his guardians. Titus returned to the residence a few hours later, at approximately midnight and startled the caregiver, 55-year-old James Wolf.

According to Wolf, he heard a noise coming from the back of the house. He grabbed a gun and went to investigate. When Wolf saw what appeared to be a man near the back door, he ordered the male to freeze.

When the man didn’t listen and began walking towards the armed Wolf, he fired a shot and realized he had shot Titus. Wolf, who is listed as a sex offender and has a criminal record in California is not supposed to be carrying a gun.

He has been charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. Titus was immediately taken to a nearby medical facility with non-life threatening injuries.
