A burnt body was found in a rubbish bin at the shopping centre in Hukushima Prefecture in the early morning of November 8th. Police later identified the dead body as a 41-year-old decontamination worker.

An employee at the restaurant near the fire scene reported that a fire broke out at a rubbish bin placed between the bookstore and the amusement arcade in the 'Mega Stage Shirakawa' shopping centre located in Nisitakayama ward, Shirakawa City, Hukushima Prefecture in the early morning of November 8th.

Police looked into the background of the burnt body. According to the investigative team, the corpse was laid on its back and was burned by petrol. The bin's lid was also fastened. There was no sign of serious injuries inflicted to the corpse, but a lighter was found next to the burned body.

Police are not ruling out that the body was discarded in the rubbish bin with cardboards and waste papers, which may have caught fire by a lighted cigarette.

According to reports, the victim has not shown up for work since November 6th, nor did he return to his company dorm where he lived alone.
