Like a scene from a movie, a tornado marches across a field, engulfing everything in its path.

Meanwhile, from indoors, a man recites the lord's prayer, hoping for survival.

This amateur video was shot Sunday during one of the many tornadoes that ripped through Illinois and Indiana.

In Washington, Illinois, foundations from where homes once stood now lay barren.

Elsewhere, cars are overturned among scattered debris in flattened neighborhoods.

The storms left in their wake nothing but grief for locals.

"I haven't heard of any injuries, and houses can be rebuilt but people can't."

In Lafayette, Indiana, aerial video shows more destruction.

There homes were torn in half and reduced to rubble.
