Morning mass in Typhoon devastation, as Aquino pledges action

Sunday morning in the Philippines as hymns echo out through roofs ripped off by super typhoon Haiyan.
Scores of worshippers come to kneel in prayer in ruined churches.
Some were seeking solace, others were just glad to be alive.
(SOUNDBITE)(English) 34-YEAR-OLD HOUSEWIFE, MAUREEN MAE SEVILLA, SAYING:
"This is the only time, this is the only place, where we can unburden all the things that we're feeling, because of our faith. And with Him we feel that there is this sense of security with the Lord."
Philippine President Benigno Aquino was caught off guard by the scale of the disaster. Aquino has been criticised for the slow pace of aid distribution.
He visited some of the affected areas on Sunday, pledging action.
