Disney and Netflix's Daredevil series lands a writer! The Wrap is confirming that Drew Goddard, the writer and producer behind Lost and Alias is currently in negotiations to write the script for the new Daredevil series. We recently told you that Disney and Netflix have joined forces to bring us more of Marvel's wheelhouse via the Netflix platform. And we have four characters that we will see being featured in their own live action series, including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage. And all of these shows will then tie into a mini-series finale that will feature all of these heroes as The Defenders. Daredevil will apparently be the first series to hit Netflix in 2015. Goddard has a lot of experience working on successful television shows. Not only did he write and produce ABC's "Lost" and "Alias" but he also wrote for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and for Angel. And if his name sounds familiar to you, we've mentioned him several times here at Clevver Movies because he also wrote the script for this year's zombie blockbuster World War Z, and he directed "The Cabin in the Woods" a project that he also co-wrote alongside Joss Whedon. And if all that experience doesn't comfort you, then maybe the fact that Goddard is a self-proclaimed Daredevil fanboy will make you feel confident. In an interview with Collider earlier this year, Goddard said quote "You're talking to a guy who had quotes from Daredevil painted on his wall while growing up. Even when I was 18, I still had the blood red door with the, 'I have shown him that a man without hope is a man without fear.' That was what I loved and so it's the sort of thing that if we can find the right project, I would love to do it." But it looks like Daredevils not the only project moving right along in development. Deadline is reporting that the Jessica Jone's series, which is to be released right after Daredevil, might also have a screenwriter. There are rumblings that Twilight scribe, Melissa Rosenberg, is in negotiations for the series. Rosenberg was originally hired to write the script for a Jessica Jones television project for ABC several years back, so whatever she wrote for that must have been impressive enough to peak Disney's interest. So, thoughts on this? Would you all pick Goddard to write the Daredevil series? And what about Rosenberg for Jessica Jones? And is there anything that you do and do not want to see on these shows?
