Disney look out, Warner Bros might be formulating a game plan that is much larger than just a Superman/Batman and Justice League film. Director Guillermo del Toro said something very interesting about the future of the DC cinematic universe in a recent interview with The director is currently working on a script for a DC dark heroes team up movie based on Justice League Dark, which is said to have Deadman, Spectre, The Demon, John Constantine, as well as Swamp Thing and the father/daughter duo of Zatara and Zatanna all together. But from the way it sounds, del Toro's movie is going to have to line up with the studios plans for future DC movies. He said quote "We're still at Warner Bros., they are making plans for the entire DC universe. All the superheroes, all the mythologies, and part of that is Justice League Dark. They're planning on TV, movies, and all the media, so we have to fit into that plan." While there has been much speculation about the direction Warner might go with their DC properties, this is the first time we've really heard from someone this close to the decision makers talking about there being cinematic plans for the entire DC universe, which of course is huge! Over the past several years, Warner has been a bit all over the place with how they develop their superhero properties. We have Arrow on television, the stand alone Dark Knight trilogy, and other superhero one offs here and there. And while many of them have done well, they haven't been interconnected in the way that Marvel has woven their properties together. But if what del Toro is saying is true, that might all change here in the near future. So, do you think its about time that Warner got with the cohesive superhero formula? And how would you like to see the future of the DC universe unfold on the big screen?
