It may be only five km from France's biggest airport hub, yet it's been nicknamed "the ghost town". Forty years ago, Charles de Gaulle Airport authorities bought out the majority of houses in Goussainville, saying the noise from the flight path would make residents' lives unbearable. But with house prices in and around the capital as expensive as ever, new residents are taking advantage of the cheap rents on offer, while those who never left are determined to breathe new life into the town.
