Every night at 8pm the Last Post is sounded at the memorial as crowds gather to remember the dead. An average of 200-250,000 people come to the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate each year, making an average of around 600 per evening, with numbers swelling to up to 7,000 people on Armistice Day.
