A man in Nebraska is finally getting reunited with a long lost motorcycle. The 1953 Triumph motorcycle was taken from the owner’s backyard in Omaha, Nebraska in 1967, rendering it missing for exactly 46 years but it was just recent seized by border patrol agents.

Having a beloved possession taken from you can be heartbreaking. A man in Nebraska is finally getting reunited with a long lost motorcycle.

The bike was stolen from him nearly half a century ago. The 1953 Triumph motorcycle was taken from the owner’s backyard in Omaha, Nebraska in 1967, rendering it missing for exactly 46 years.

On October 30th, the U.S. Customs & Border Protection seized the bike and handed it over to California Highway Patrol authorities who were responsible for finding the original owner.

The man’s identity was not released however he is reportedly is in his 70s now. At the time of the theft, the motorcycle was worth $300 and it had no insurance.

The value has since skyrocketed. According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Triumph, which is beautifully colored in black and blue, had been on its way to Japan, prior to the seizure at the Port of Los Angeles. Its new value was said to be about $9,000.

The owner still lives in Omaha, but there is no word on when he will officially get to take his bike back home.
