Moods Of Future Joy LP Out Now!

Guido aka Guy Middleton first stepped out into the world of production with 'Orchestral Lab' (Punch Drunk Records) back in February 2009. The track encompassed the new wave of that Bristolian dubstep/bass scene championed by close allies Joker and Gemmy. The track itself was a cinematic, beautiful at times, bass led piece that won the hearts of so many and cemented Guido into the already flourishing scene.

His production style could be viewed as more traditionally musical, focusing as much on melody and strings, as syncopation and rhythm. Regular plays on Radio 1, Kiss FM and BBC 1Xtra plus an experimental mix for Mary Anne Hobbs (BBC Radio 1) and support from Rob da Bank has strengthened his standing amongst peers and built his international reputation. Radio plays all over the world and appearances on set lists including Toddla T, Sinden and Mary Anne Hobbs plus of course Gemmy, Joker and many more.

It has been three years since Bristol mainstay Guido released his debut LP, Anidea, though he hasn't exactly been silent in the meantime. 12"s and EPs for a few different labels—including his own State of Joy imprint—have sporadically appeared, and now, we've been given word of the DJ/producer's sophomore LP. Called Moods of Future, Guido's 11-track album is said to take a step forward from the R&B-informed "purple" dubstep of his past, moving into territory informed more by the artist's foundations in jazz and classical music to "[create] tracks that—although always inherent of dubstep's influence—are bereft of any single genre." Pinch's Tectonic label will release the full-length on November 4.
