That’s where the baycycle project comes in. Basically any bicycle will easily be able to cruise on the water’s surface thanks to a small kit which was made to fit all model bikes.
That kit is an inflatable contraption which resembles the bottom half of a pontoon boat. The rider can pedal away, which in turn causes the inflatable portion to glide through the water and even jump ocean waves.
The man behind the project, Judah Schiller pointed out another bonus of the bike stating “It also can provide a new form of sustainable and affordable alternative for hundreds of millions of people around the world who otherwise sit in traffic on bridges and tunnels for hours each day.”
The concept is not only practical and convenient, but that inflatable base can also create a new sport – water biking. The project is currently featured on Indiegogo. Schiller is hoping to raise $50,000 so the kits can go into production.
What do you think of the concept?
