The tech-enabled accessory allows users to share what they’re seeing with others, and has a real time information feed and activity monitor displaying in an upper corner.
Thus, the officer wrote her a ticket. She’s cited with violating the California code that prohibits the driver’s use of monitors, “visually displaying a television broadcast or video signal that produces entertainment or business applications.”
Critics of the reprimand are citing that California law allows for monitors displaying assistance and safety-enhancing information.
They assert that Google Glass can be used for that, too, so the ticket was likely unwarranted.
The recipient herself has taken to Google Plus to get to the bottom of the legalities surrounding the ticket.
Public opinion runs the gamut from advising that she fight it and be a legal pioneer to recommending that she just drop it and move on with her life.
