Santos’ wife knew something was wrong when her husband didn’t return home on a recent Monday night. Eyewitnesses had reported seeing him with some unknown suspects, who were assaulting Santos and forcing him into a vehicle.

The morning after he went missing, the wife opened the door to find a backpack - inside was Santos’ head. His eyes and tongue had been cut out.

Local police have also found a man’s torso in a body of water near the city. Family members have reportedly confirmed that body belongs to Santos.

According to friends and relatives, the 35-year-old soccer player didn’t have any known enemies. It was also pointed out that no threats were made to the Santos family prior to the killing.
