Recently a 5-month-old puppy named Loki got caught in a house fire. After rescue workers pulled the canine from the apartment, Wenatchee firefighter Mike Day immediately went to work, giving Loki mouth to snout resuscitation for 15 minutes straight.

Day stated “He wasn’t breathing, but he had a pulse. It took a long time, it seemed like forever, but he finally started breathing on his own. I didn’t think he was going to make it, but dogs are tough.”

The efforts paid off. The black lab began breathing again. Loki is expected to make a full recovery.

Day is considered the dog whisperer at the Wenatchee fire department. Loki is dog number four, whose life was saved by Day through mouth to snout resuscitation. Each of those four pooches survived.

As for the cause of the fire, it started in Loki’s apartment. The pooch’s owner reportedly left a bag of dog food on the stove and put Loki in his crate.

However Loki managed to get out. He jumped on the stove, inadvertently turning it on and the bag caught on flames. At this point, the family is just happy everyone got out alive.
