According to the results of a new study from the University of Glasgow in the Scotland, women are better than men at multitasking between several activities.

The researchers looked at the performance of 120 men and 120 women while they had to stay on task alternating between counting and recognizing shapes.

Men who participated in the study were found to be slower at effectively changing between tasks, but the genders were equal when they were only doing one activity at a time.

The difference between response times was not insignificant, with men taking 77 percent longer to do more than one task, and women taking 69 percent longer.

In another experiment form the University of Hertfordshire, men and women were given a list of tasks to do in the span of eight minutes, like using a map to locate a restaurant, solve math problems, answer a phone call, and find a lost key in a field.

Professor Keith Laws, who worked on the study is quoted as saying the results "suggest that, in a stressed and complex situation, women are more able to stop and think about what's going on in front of them."

Some experts argue that men might be better suited for different tasks than women based on their skillset.
