I have three of these on my balcony at the moment, and they look great. Using planters that sit on the railing instead of the ground frees up floor space and adds a bit of privacy to my patio. Its also a bit easier to tend to the plants and makes them less accessible to pests. These planters have a twogallon capacity and there is a 2 inch reservoir at the bottom to catch excess water. There are drain holes predrilled underneath. The large hump in the middle makes it more like two planters attached to each other. The useless plastic spacers take a bit of effort to snap into the bottom of the planters, and take almost no effort to snap off and fall to the ground, vanishing immediately into another dimension. Fortunately, I did not need the spacers, although my planters can now shift slightly on the railing.
