Facebook is once again getting flak for making policy changes, only this time it has nothing to do with its privacy settings, but rather gory videos of people getting their heads chopped off. Turns out that Facebook has lifted its ban on decapitation videos, stating that, "Facebook has long been a place where people turn to share their experiences, particularly when they're connected to controversial events on the ground, such as human rights abuses, acts of terrorism and other violent events. People are sharing this video on Facebook to condemn it. If the video were being celebrated, or the actions in it encouraged, our approach would be different."

So apparently the point of allowing the public, no matter how young, see bloody decapitation videos is because most people are condemning it. This is interesting, considering Facebook doesn't even have a dislike button for people to press. In the meantime, the company is assuring the public that it is working on ways to give people more control over what they see.

Meanwhile, everyone from parent groups to politicians are loudly expressing their concerns over how such content will psychologically affect young children if they see it.
