A giant purple hand moored on the River Vltava in Prague has been causing a stir in the Czech Republic.

The middle-finger salute to the Prague Castle, the seat of President, is the brain-child of Czech artist David Cerny known as much for his provocative, outsized art as for his anti-communist views.

Some residents give it two thumbs up, but others felt it went too far.
