After the closing bell on Thursday, Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ: NFLX) is expected to report fiscal third-quarter earnings of 49 cents per share on revenue of $1.10 billion, according to analysts polled by Reuters, compared with a profit of 13 cents a share on revenue of $905.09 million in the year-ago period. Investors will be look for subscriber expansion and net additions.
On Monday, shares of Netflix rose 3.64 percent to 345.63 in morning trading.
U.S. stocks opened flat on Monday, as investors weighed the latest corporate earnings and look ahead to Tuesday’s delayed September jobs report. Before the bell on Monday, McDonald's Corp. (NYSE: MCD), Halliburton Co. (NYSE: HAL) and Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) reported fiscal third-quarter earnings.
The Dow Jones industrial average fell 7.93 points, or 0.05 percent, at 15,391.72. The S&P 500 Index rose 0.58 points, or 0.03 percent, at 1,745.12. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 10.70 points, or 0.27 percent, at 3,924.97.
