A former Tiffany & Co. vice president, Ingrid Lederhaas-Okun, has been accused of stealing more than 164 pieces of company jewelry and selling it for up to $1.3 million.

After the Vice President of Product Development lost her job in a company downsize in February, a company review revealed she had signed out more than 164 pieces of jewelry for work-related reasons since November 2012. Authorities claim she deliberately took items worth less than $10,000 to avoid detection, as the company only makes a daily inventory of checked-out items worth more than $25,000.

Lederhaas-Okun then allegedly sold the stolen goods to an unnamed diamond dealer in Manhattan, signing papers to confirm they were her possessions. She and her husband were written 75 checks totaling around $1.3 million. Lederhaas-Okun now faces charges of wire fraud and transporting stolen items across state lines.
