Rapper 50 Cent charged in domestic violence dispute

Curtis James Jackson, aka 50 Cent, has been charged with one count of domestic violence and four counts of vandalism after essentially destroying the Los Angeles Condo of his former girlfriend last month.

According to prosecutors, Jackson was arguing with his former girlfriend, and mother to his child, in her home located at the Toluca Lake community. During their argument, Jackson became enraged and began destroying her property.
The woman, who has not been identified, locked herself in her bedroom. Jackson kicked open the door, and kicked her before ransacking the bedroom.
When police arrived on the scene, Jackson was nowhere to be found. Authorities found a broken chandelier and a broken TV among the destroyed furniture throughout the home.
Investigators estimate Jackson caused $7,100 worth of damage to the property. His arraignment is set for July 22 at the Van Nuys Superior court.
