A violin that was played to calm passengers as the Titanic went down has been sold at auction for more than a million euros in England.

The price, 900,000 British pounds, is a record for a piece of memorabilia from the ship that sunk in 1912 on its maiden voyage.

Bandmaster Wallace Hartley died with over 1,500 others when the ship hit an iceberg.
