An elderly couple in Chattaroy, Washington recently passed away after a major car accident which occurred on Newport Highway. According to state troopers, 92-year-old Floyd Nordhagen and his 88-year-old wife, Margaret were holding hands when their bodies were first discovered in the wreckage.

Police authorities believed Floyd, who had been driving the car, possibly misjudged the speed of another vehicle and pulled out in front of an oncoming truck.

The Nordhagens had been married for 68 years. According to friends and family, Floyd would constantly talk about his wife and how beautiful she was. They would even mow their lawn together; both of them would stand side and side and push it as a team.

The authorities who responded to the crash were affected by the final act of love. One of the troopers, Rob Spencer stated “You don't see that everyday. We actually had to ask her to let go of him, so we could get him out of the car.”
