STORY: At least nine Chinese crew members were dead and two missing after a Panama-registered cargo ship sank off the eastern coast of South Korea, South Korean Coast Guards said on Wednesday (October 16).

Cargo ship, Cheng Lui 15, an 8000 tonne vessel was carrying 19 crew members, 18 Chinese and one Vietnamese, when the accident happened on Tuesday (October 15), the coast guard said.

An investigation is underway into the cause of the accident, however the coast guard said it may be down to a malfunction with the ship's anchor.
