A teacher by profession, Rajani Paranjpe founded the Doorstep School in 1989 with the aim to provide free education to the underprivileged children in the cities of Mumbai and Pune. Doorstep school till date has impacted the lives of more than 50,000 children. Having established over 80 non formal education centres across these cities, she along with her student and co founder, Bina Lashkari started a unique initiative- School on Wheels. A bus that is converted into a school and equipped with all the facilities. Education that "literally" reaches one's doorstep.
