UPDATE: Shark wrestler pulls baby shark to shore while beach fishing

A video of Nantucket man Elliot Sudal recently went viral after he was filmed wrestling a 7-foot-long shark to shore on Sunday. Sudal was fishing for bluefish when he noticed that the fish were being eaten by something nearby. He put half a bluefish at the end of this line and within minutes he had hooked the 7-foot shark. After reeling him in a little, Sudal jumped into the water to wrestle the shark onto shore.

The 24-year-old claims shark wrestling is his favorite hobby, with this particular shark weighing about 200 pounds and the entire event lasting about 45 minutes. After he pulled the shark onto the beach, he and some friends took pictures with the creature sending it back into the ocean.

Sudal has impressed many with his hobby, but he has also received a lot of criticism from those who are concerned for the sharks. The shark wrestler says he has a degree in environmental science and supports conservation efforts, and had no intention of harming the shark.

"I always let them go. I'm not trying to hurt the sharks," he told local media.

Sudal estimated that he has caught more than 100 sharks in the past eight months, mostly in Florida. According to Sudal, he is able to catch and release as many as five sharks in one day in the Sunshine State.

Sudal says he plans to continue with his favorite pastime.
