One teen driver in Duluth, Georgia, Armando Lupercio has been accused of driving his vehicle into a Taco Bell establishment four times over the course of one night. According to police, Lupercio was intoxicated.
At about 12:30 am, on a recent Sunday, a Gwinnett County police officer had been patrolling when he heard tires screeching and a female voice yelling for help.
The cop followed the sounds and realized a pickup truck had been driven off the road, into a tree. The vehicle then continued moving through a parking lot before smashing through the glass of a Taco Bell restaurant.
The officer witnessed the driver, later identified as Lupercio, back up and strike the building several more times. He also hit a few cars stopped nearby.
The cop took his gun out and confronted Lupercio, who smelled of alcohol and claimed the gas pedal was stuck. A police captain stated “Even as the officer approached the vehicle, it seemed like the driver was intent on crashing into the vehicle again or trying to run someone down in the parking lot.”
Lupercio was quickly arrested for drunken driving and aggravated assault.
