Mark Millar is in LOVE with the script for Fox's upcoming superhero movie, Nemesis
Now, when I say Millar is in love with the script, that is no understatement. The Wanted and Kick Ass creator wrote an open letter predicting that the Nemesis movie will be one of the best movies of the decade, and that it's going to be quote "massive" and that it's "one of the most relentless and powerful screenplays I've ever read." Did I mention that he's pretty impressed? Brothers, Joe and Matthew Michael Carnahan have been working on the script for the superheroes story for some time now. Matthew most recently wrote the script for World War Z, and Joe wrote the screenplay and directed the 2011 Liam Neeson action drama, The Grey. But what is it about this script that is going to make Nemesis so good? Well, Millar explains that the story will of course follow a costumed billionaire who is a supervillain attacking an American city, and if Batman was The Joker, that would be a good description of what we can all expect. And according to Millar, The Blake Morrow character (who is the metro police officer who goes after Nemesis in the book) will become a movie icon after this film and that every actor in Hollywood will want to be cast in this role. Millar also admitted that he thought Nemesis' story would be a challenging one to tell because even though he created him, he thinks that its hard to get an audience to root for a supervillian, billionaire who is fighting poor people in Gotham City every night. However, Millar is equating the Caranahan team to a quote "brilliant plastic surgeon who has taken a decent-looking individual and turned them into a sex-bomb." During this love fest, we didn't get any specifics on a production schedule, although he did mentioned that a release date is still at least a year or two away, but Millar promises that it will be the smartest action movie we've seen in a while. So, who else is excited to see Nemesis' story on the big screen? And do you think this movie will be as amazing as Millar thinks it is?
