Space Expedition Corporation launches space flights in Asia

Dutch firm Space Expedition Corporation has opened an office in Hong Kong to offer commercial space travel targeting the Asian market by the end of 2014. According to Reuters, the company's Lynx Mark II spaceship carries two people, a pilot and a passenger who will also act as a co-pilot. The craft takes off from a runway horizontally and reaches a maximum speed of 3,552 kilometers per hour for three minutes. The passenger will be in space at 103 kilometers above sea level for just under four minutes. A 60-minute trip into space on Lynx Mark II will cost US$100,000.
