Australian Navy commissions new MRH-90 Taipan helicopters

The Australian Navy has officially commissioned the first of its 46 MRH-90 advanced tactical troop transport helicopters, also known as Taipans. The MRH-90 measures 5.23m high and 16.13m long. It features a fully composite fuselage as well as an all weather radar and forward looking infrared. The 10-tonne class MRH-90 has room for two pilots, two loadmasters and up to 20 combat troops or 12 stretchers. It has a top speed of 300 kph and a range of approximately 900km.
