Inspite of all the signals, train accidents are still far too common.

A woman was recently killed after being struck by a train in Yokohama, Japan.

The circumstances surrounding her death are heartbreaking, as the lady had rushed onto the tracks to save a 74-year-old man who had been lying there. The 40-year-old woman had reportedly been sitting in a stopped car at a railroad crossing when she first spotted the elderly man on the tracks. Her father was also in the vehicle.

She immediately jumped out from the passenger’s seat and rushed to the male’s aid. With very limited time, she was able to pull the man from the tracks and save his life but an oncoming train fatally struck her.

A passerby attempted to help by pushing the emergency button but there just wasn’t enough time for the train to stop. Adding to the trauma, the woman’s father witnessed his own daughter get killed.

The man who had been on the tracks was rushed to the hospital. He appeared to have a broken collar bone.

The distraught father of the victim stated “Although she died, the man’s life was saved. I can only say that.”
