Bangkok Airways recently issued an apology after a passenger was served a fruit bowl with a few extra, not so tasty components.

Bangkok Airways recently issued an apology after a passenger was served a fruit bowl with a few extra, unappetizing ingredients.

A large insect leg was reportedly stuck to the exterior of the bowl. On September 23rd, a photo surfaced online showing a white and blue bowl covered in plastic wrap.

The bug leg is clearly visible along with what appears to be other insect body parts smeared across the bowl.

The man who posted the picture claimed his wife received the fruit bowl on a Bangkok Airways flight to Phuket on September 12th. The male sent an email complaint to the airline and a representative with the company promptly responded with an apology.

Although many believe the insect leg is from a cockroach, the executive vice president of corporate planning at Bangkok Airways claimed the leg looks to be from a cricket species.

Quality control staff members are now being questioned, but it was pointed out that over 120 insect monitoring traps are placed around food handling areas to check for roaches and thus far, none have surfaced.
