I've had this one on the back burner for almost a year now and it's finally time to give it its due. This is going to be one of the longest sets I've done (and during a time when school is choking down on my free time, apologies in advance) but almost all of the songs are well worth the wait. It's time for the long awaited Disney classic, Mary Poppins!
I go into this set knowing full well that a lot of people will disagree with my casting choices this time around. I've decided to go on with my plan anyway, though, as after this movie I've got something interesting planned... but more on that later. As far as Cadance for Mrs. Banks goes, and you can probably guess Mr. Banks while we're at it, I've only got this to say: I've been bugged to do a Cadance/Shining Armor movie since the pair of them were debuted back in season 2. The problem is that they have next to no screen time.
This video is proof that I had a hard time pulling appropriate scenes for a song that is relatively short compared to what I usually work with. Cadance just doesn't speak as often as people seem to remember. Go and look for yourself if you don't believe me, I had a hard time finding three sentences spoken together in the same scene. As such, the relatively minor yet very important parts of the Banks are my way of finally giving them some well deserved screen time that I otherwise couldn't. While they don't fit the characterization that I usually hold my videos to... this one I owe them. I'm willing to wave my usual standards to let them have their turn in the spotlight.
I do not own My Little Pony or Disney, but I do have this wrench. Mr. Green told me to hold onto it for a while. I wonder how long I need to keep it, it's leaving a strange red stain on the carpet...
