Universal Pictures has set a 2015 release date for Legendary's World of Warcraft movie.
I've got good news for the gamers out there, it looks like the World of Warcraft movie is getting rolled out on December 18th, 2015. The movie, simply titled Warcraft, is based on the popular role-playing, fantasy game made by Blizzard which is set in a medieval like era where the players take on heroic fantasy characters in a magical virtual world. We don't know much about which direction the plot will go in, but we do know that Blood Diamonds Charles Leavitt is working on the script, which will likely feature alien worlds and time travel. Source Code's Duncan Jones is on board to direct, and will also co-write the script with Leavitt. But what about casting? Well, we recently heard that Colin Farrell was in negotiations for a leading role, but there was still a 50/50 chance that he wouldn't accept it. Also, Mission Impossible's Paula Patton's name was thrown in the mix for consideration as well as Star Treks Anton Yelchin. And we had also heard that there were a couple of other stars who were on a short list for starring roles including Looper and Prisoner's star Paul Dano, Vikings' Travis Fimmel, and Hell on Wheels' Anson Mount. Right now, production is scheduled to start in early 2014. So, I have to open up the floor to all of my gamer fans out there. With all of the possibilities inside of the World of Warcraft, what do you all think this movie is going to be about? Sound off below, or over on Facebook and Twitter as well at ClevverMovies. Working hard to bring you the very latest on your favorite movies, Im Erin White, and I will see you next time.
