We are still several months away from seeing Captain America and Black Widow teaming up in The Winter Solider, but Scarlett Johansson is giving us a few tid bits to help tide us all over. And James Spader gives some insight on how he's prepping for Ultron. Scarlett Johansson recently sat down with Refinery 29 to talk a little about what is happening in the Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which takes place two years after the events of The Avengers, and the actress is also dishing a little about what might be going on between Captain America and Black Widow. Scarlett said that her character's relationship with Captain America is a "working" relationship, and that the two of them will bond in this film because they are both fighting in a similar way in the streets as Agents of SHIELD. But what about all of the speculation that there might be budding romance between Cap and Black Widow? Well, Scarlett didn't give away too much more on the topic, but she did say that their friendship becomes more intimate because of a series of unfortunate events. She said quote "They share many similarities because they live on the defensive without relying on anyone. Also, the two have been working for the government throughout their professional careers. With their friendship they begin to question what they want and what is their true identity." As of right now, Black Widow is the lone kick ass female in a post Avenger world full of male dominated superheroes, but what Scarlett enjoys most about playing Black Widow is that director Joss Whedon does more with the character than just use her sex appeal. Scarlett said quote "[Joss] has jumped the fence with Avengers to celebrate a female character that is not a simple ornament inside the group. He's not interested in just selling her physical attractiveness...I think it is rare to find a woman sexy and intelligent on the big screen, able to fight anyone (including men) and overcome them physically and emotionally, and my character does it." After The Winter Soldier, we will of course see Black Widow teaming up once again with her superhero counterparts in Avengers: Age of Ultron, which may be even bigger and better than the first Avengers movie. And that's partly due to the fact that we will see the team take on the super robot baddie, Ultron who will be played by James Spader. To some, Spader's casting came out of no where, but the actor approached Marvel head, Kevin Feige, years ago and asked to one day be apart of the Marvel Universe, because he was such a huge comic book fan. And apparently Feige thought this role was the perfect fit for Spader, even though we will likely not see his face in the film. Spader is already prepping by sitting through extensive photograph sessions and head and body scans to quote "[figure] out how the hell Im gonna fit in this Ultron character." And like his casting or not, I think it's safe to say we are all pretty curious to see how Ultron is going to play out on the big screen. So, lots of Marvel dish today, but are you getting excited to see what happens between Black Widow and Captain America? And do you think that James Spader can pull off Ultron?
