House bill passed

In a late night congressional session, House Republicans approved a government spending bill but attached an amendment that will delay funding for Obamacare for up to one year.

The bill now goes back to the Senate for approval. But as members of the Democratic led Senate have already said, they will not pass a government spending bill with an amendment attached meant to derail Obamacare.

And with no government spending bill the government shutdown slated for Tuesday October 1st seems immanent.

Both sides are already blaming the other.

CONGRESSMAN STENY HOYER, DEMOCRATIC OF MARYLAND, SAYING:

"We have a matter of days, but hours left to prevent our government from shutting down. A shutdown is not a tactic, it's not a strategy, it is a failure for this country. Let us not be the country whose representatives can not work together to fulfil the most basic function of government. "
