Former US President Bill Clinton's Global Citizens Awards have honoured seven people, including Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai.
The teenager was shot in the head by the Taliban last year for speaking out to promote education for girls.
She told the ceremony in New York that wars should be fought through dialogue, peace and education.
