The Freddie Mercury biopic team could be looking to Harry Potter to fill in where Sacha Baron Cohen left off. If you are a bit confused, let me catch you up to speed. The biopic of Queen's lead singer, Freddie Mercury, was all set with Sacha Baron Cohen on board to star as the singer. But the project had some issues getting off the ground due to conflicts between how the band wanted Mercury portrayed and how Cohen wanted to play him. Apparently Cohen wanted to push the limits, telling Mercury's story with more of an R-rated feel, really showing the gay singers flamboyant and extravagant lifestyle. The band, who has the final approval on the script, decided that they wanted to keep the biopic more PG. So, Sacha ditched the project this past summer. But now, sources close to the Daily Star are saying that Harry Potter's, Daniel Radcliff has been offered the job of stepping in to play Freddie Mercury, and that quote "The part is his if he wants it." And also this source is revealing that if Radcliff does take the role, he will be offered a huge paycheck, similar to what he received when he played Harry Potter. But why Radcliff? Well, he is much closer to Mercury's height than Sacha, and has the vocal chops that the creative team was looking for. But what likely impressed producers Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal, was Ratcliff's performance in playing the gay poet, Allen Ginsburg, in this years Kill Your Darlings. So, how do you all feel about Daniel Radcliff taking over for Sasha Baron Cohen. Do you think he has what it takes to play Freddie Mercury?
