Chris Brown bashes Jay Z and compares himself to Trayvon Martin, just another day in the world of music. What's up guys thanks for hanging with us here at ClevverMusic. R&B singer Chris Brown opened up to JET magazine for their October issue about his reputation and ended up saying some interesting things about rap mogul Jay Z. The 24-year-old still can't believe the public won't forget him for his mistakes regarding Rihanna, and is mad that Jay Z gets a free pass. Chris told the magazine, "This is something I've been dealing with for the past maybe five years... Anybody with a voice—Tupac, Michael Jackson, the Notorious B.I.G.—gets formatted... except maybe for Jay Z, who is accepted by White America because he shakes hands and kisses babies... nobody brings up the fact that he stabbed somebody and sold drugs. He gets a pass." To be fair to Chris, it's true. Nobody thinks about that regarding Jay Z. But perhaps that's because Hov doesn't still dwell upon the past and let it define him. Chris, on the other hand still gets into trouble with the law and fights with fellow rappers like Drake. So there is a difference here, in our opinion. But it is true, Jay Z pleaded guilty to stabbing a record producer in 1999. And Chris wasn't done with the controversy with that comment, also adding in the issue of racism. Chris also compared himself to wronged slain teen Trayvon Martin saying, "I identify with Trayvon 100 percent as far as living in 2013 and still dealing with blatant racism." While Travyon was wrongly killed in Florida, Chris is still alive and well and being insulted for his own mistakes. We find it a little tough to see the comparison here. It seems Chris believes part of the public's opinion of him is due to racism. Do you guys agree? And do you think Jay Z got a pass? For more on this story head over to jetmag.com.
