History Channel Documentary:: King Porus ( of Present Day North Punjab Pakistan (Past name Peruvia)) vs Alexander the Great
Alexander the Great needs no Introduction and Porus was the King of Paurava ( A region of present Day North Punjab Potohar , Gujrat and other Adjacent regions) . The battle is known as the one of the famous Battles in history in terms of War Tactics of Older times. King Porus not only challenged Alexander but he never surrended while Alexander the great Won in the end but he was so much Impressed by Bravery of Porus that he let him rule his Kingdom as Porus was one of the first kings in this region who challended Alexander and Porus told Alexander that Either Treat me as a King or Porus fails to comply. Later on Alexander tried to push more into India but Majority of Indian Kings got united not like in Punjab where Taxiles and Porus of Upper Punjab regions were infighting and it benefited the other kings of this region. .Porus became an Ally of Alexander as Peruvia was an Independant and many kings of their regions want to take hold of this fertile land.
