Frustrated and out of work, a job seeker thrust a knife into the hand of China’s 2nd richest man, Zong Qinghou, after being denied employment.

The knife-wielding man approached the billionaire after seeing a television feature highlighting the help the businessman has given migrant workers.

Upon being denied an opportunity with Zong’s beverage company, the man became unhinged.

The 49-year-old attacker was taken into custody the same day.

Zong sustained damage to muscles and tendons in two of his fingers, but reportedly returned to work shortly after the incident.

He’s been treating the situation lightly, telling the press that the wound was minor and that the knifing was accidental.

In general, Zong is known for his laid-back, regular-guy style.

The man frowns upon showy displays of wealth, and is known to dine regularly in his company’s cafeteria alongside his employees.

He seems to have not forgotten what it is to struggle, something he’d done plenty of while working his way to where he is now.

Zong’s first business was selling popsicles and sodas to kids.

Since then, he’s built an empire. He now owns the third largest beverage company in China and has an estimated worth of 18.6 billion dollars.
