Brides and grooms are always looking for creative ideas to make their wedding memorable. But that means taking on a risk that everything may not go according to the plan.
An unidentified couple, who recently got married at a church in Wiltshire, United Kingdom opted to employ an owl named Darcy into their nuptial ceremony. Darcy’s specific duty was that of a ring bearer.
The owl was supposed to come flying across the church at the perfect moment with the wedding jewelry attached to its feet, however Darcy had other things in mind.
The owl did fly, however not the intended route. Darcy instead flew right up into the rafters of the church. The creature then slept for about an hour.
All the while, red ribbons were attached to the feet. Bird keepers worked to get Darcy down, but Reverend Chris Bryan didn’t seem to mind.
He continued on with the ceremony using a back up set of rings. Bryan said he doesn't discourage couples from using animals or other unique aspects during ceremonies.
He's thrilled when people want to add a little something extra special into weddings.
