An unmanned Antares rocket has blasted off from Virginia in the US sending a Cygnus cargo capsule to the International Space Station.

Inside the capsule are 700kg of food clothing and other supplies. The privately owned rocket and capsule have been developed in partnership with NASA to fly cargo to the space station following the retirement of the space shuttles.
