Off the market.
The former mansion of the late fashion designer Gianni Versace was sold at auction for over $41million.
A steal, considering the original asking price was $125 million.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) LAMAR FISHER, PRESIDENT OF FISHER AUCTION, SAYING:
"The property has been sold. There will be a new owner tomorrow on the court confirmation. The closing will take approximately about twenty days to occur. Again the sales price is forty one million, five hundred thousand dollars."
The landmark home boasts 10 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a pool inlaid with 24-karat gold.
But it also has a dark past.
In 1997, Versace was gunned down at the entrance by serial killer Andrew Cunanan.
The new owner is Jordash jeans magnate Joe Nakash, who says the mansion is a piece of history.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) JOE NAKASH, NEW OWNER OF THE MANSION, SAYING:
"I believe it's worth a hundred million dollars, easy. I got it very cheap."
