Season 3 is here! The X Factor premiere saw Demi Lovato in tears, a Whitney Houston comparison, and an adorable Britney Spears cover! Welcome back to your X Factor news source online ClevverMusic. The season premiere of X Factor saw the debut of Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio as new judges on the singing show, joining returning mentors Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell. Four new mentor categories for the judges were revealed for this season to be: Girls, Boys, Groups, and Over 25. The Teens and Young Adults are gone, but still anyone over the age of 12 can audition for X Factor. Now, about those auditions. The most shocking performance came from Lillie McCloud and you won't believe this woman is 54 years old, take a look.
The performance was so inspirational it brought Demi Lovato to tears. Demi commented afterwards, "I felt like I was listening to Whitney." Naturally, Lillie was sent through with 4 yeses from the judges. And there was some love in the air on the premiere, meet Alex & Sierra, a boyfriend girlfriend duo who auditioned in New Orleans. The adorable couple auditioned with an acoustic folk version of Britney Spears "Toxic" and it was better than the original, take a look.
Is it just us or does Sierra sound exactly like Haley Reinhart? We're literally obsessed with that audition, and so were the judges. Demi Lovato commented, "I have the chills... I'm in love with your love". And no shock, the couple got through with four yeses and a final word from Simon "all you need is love". The episode ended in Charleston with inspirational contestant Rion Paige who sang Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away", check it out.
Yes, she got a well-deserved standing ovation. Paulina Rubio commented afterwards, "I'm honored to live this with you," while Simon said impressively, "I'm going to remember this audition for a really long time." We're definitely rooting for Rion, who are you rooting for so far? And what did you think of the premiere?
