Apologies are in order at Buckingham Palace ---- security there was left red-faced after failing to recognize Prince Andrew and ordering him to get on the ground with his hands in the air.

The 53-year-old prince, fifth in line to the British throne, had been strolling through the grounds when security approached him.

Andrew has accepted their apology, acknowledging in a statement that the police have a "difficult job."

He went on to add, "I am grateful for their apology and look forward to a safe walk in the garden in the future."
