With all of the new things that are happening in the Marvel Universe in the next few years, there may be a super heroine or two that could get thrown into the mix. I'm a big believer of girl power, and we've had a taste of it in past Marvel films. With characters like Black Widow, Peggy Carter, and even Pepper Potts, the ladies have proven that they can stand as equals alongside the guys. But...we want more!! Well I have a bit of good news. From the way it sounds, there may be some discussions going on at Marvel that could bring us a female protagonist standalone movie and maybe even a female superhero film. We sat down with Director/Producer/ and Marvel Co-President, Louis D'Esposito to discuss his new Agent Carter one shot short film, which by the way will appear on the Iron Man 3 DVD/Blu-Ray, and he told us that it was possible that we could see Peggy Carter getting her own standalone film down the road and that plans for that movie are in the back of their minds saying quote "we would love to continue telling Peggy Carter's story, so we'll see." He also said that Marvel is still deciding what their slate will be for Phase 3, but that they really want to wait and see fans reactions to the films that are currently coming out before they set anything in stone. But another heroine that Louis mentioned as a possibility was Ms. Marvel, also known as Captain Marvel. Which is interesting because Battlestar Galactica and Riddick star, Katee Sackhoff recently revealed to Schmoes Knows that she was currently talking to Disney about a project that she would need to have availability for during the first quarter of next, could it be possible that she would be up for Captain Marvel? Personally, I think she would be the perfect fit. There were some other heroes that D'Esposito said Marvel was thinking about for future movies which included Dr.Strange, Black Panther, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist but make sure you stay tuned right here at ClevverMovies because the full interview with D'Esposito will be posted soon, and you don't want to miss it. But what do you all think about potentially seeing Captain Marvel or even a Peggy Carter standalone film on the big screen? Chat with us about it in the comments, and also over on twitter at ClevverMovies. From Hollywood, Im Erin White, and Ill see you all next time.
