After plaguing many other parts of the country, it appears that bed bugs are now headed into Wisconsin with a vengeance.

After plaguing many other parts of the country, it appears that bed bugs are now headed into Wisconsin with a vengeance.

Area health officials have reported huge increases in bed bug related calls over the last two years.

Prior to that, there were virtually none, and one community health worker said at one time he probably couldn’t have even properly identified one.

That is no longer the case as many cities in the state field multiple complaints a week.

One of the hard hit areas is Milwaukee, where the bugs have sighted in apartments, hotels, and even a movie theater.

The problem with the blood-sucking bugs is that they can hitch a ride on just about anything to anywhere.

They don’t show a preference for dirty over clean or opulent as opposed to basic.

As long as somebody regularly sleeps within 8 feet of them, they tend to be content.

Another part of the problem is that eradication is expensive, so at times landlords have been known to skimp on the truly effective means.

The good news is that bedbugs aren’t known to spread diseases or bacteria.
